Bush Hall Wedding Photographer | Hannah + Chris
It was great to be back in London for Hannah and Chris’s wedding celebration at Bush Hall in Shepherd’s Bush. This amazing and unique West London venue was originally built as a dance hall in 1904 and has had a fascinating history—serving as a soup kitchen during the Second World War, a rehearsal space for bands like The Who in the ’60s, and a snooker and social club in the ’80s. Since its restoration in 2001, it’s been returned to its original Edwardian glory and now hosts live music and comedy, welcoming some pretty big acts. Fittingly, music played a big part in Hannah and Chris’s day too, with Hannah’s mum’s band, Sixfold, playing to a packed dancefloor in the evening.
Getting ready at The Hoxton
Hannah spent the morning getting ready at The Hoxton, just around the corner from Bush Hall, with a few friends and family members popping in and out. Located in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush, this vibrant part of London is steeped in a rich history of music, theatre, film, and TV. The area is brimming with iconic venues, lively restaurants, independent shops, bustling markets, and fantastic pubs. It’s a wonderful spot to explore, offering a more local feel away from the typical tourist trails—perfect if you’re planning a London wedding and have friends or family staying nearby. After a chilled morning, getting ready and making final revisions to her speech, Hannah made the short walk over to Bush Hall.
A joyful celebrant-led ceremony at Bush Hall
Having spent a few minutes with groom Chris and his mates, who were putting on ties in the bar it was soon time for the ceremony, which was led by Hannah’s friend, Chantel who did an amazing job. It was a lovely, touching and funny ceremony, with Hannah’s memorable vow’s read over the Hans Zimmer backing track ‘You’re So Cool’ from the movie ‘True Romance’ being a highlight. Then with bubbles at the ready, replacing confetti, Hannah and Chris made their way up the aisle together to celebrate the rest of the day with friends and family.
A fun Bush Hall wedding celebration
Guests gathered in the bar area and on the roof terrace for a relaxed drinks reception under the summer sun, before heading back to the main hall where rows of tables were set for the meal. The décor gave a nod to Hannah and Chris’s love of music, with their favourite album covers adorning the tables. After a few chilled couple photos next door at the record shop and laundrette, Hannah and Chris made their entrance to a wave of napkins held high.
Following the meal and heartfelt speeches, the room was transformed once again, with the stage set for Hannah’s mum’s band, Sixfold, who kicked things off after the couple’s first dance to Pure Shores by All Saints. The dancefloor stayed packed all night long.
Here are a few moments from their day, I hope you enjoy them! If you’re looking for a photographer to capture your London wedding, get in touch, I’d love to hear from you.
