Capturing Jenny and Claudio’s stylish and laid-back summer wedding in Liverpool was such a pleasure. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they celebrated on one of the hottest days of the year. From the relaxed bridal preparations at The Municipal Hotel to the incredible party at Sub Rosa, it was a joy to document their day and tell their unique story through these images.
Bride at The Municipal Hotel and Groom Prep
It was nice to capture both bride and groom preparations, as Jenny and Claudio were staying just five minutes apart. This made it easy to cover both parts of the day without much time spent traveling between locations. The stylish Municipal Hotel on the bustling Dale Street was an ideal spot for Jenny’s preparations. It’s a great choice for couples planning a Liverpool wedding, being so close to popular ceremony locations like Liverpool Town Hall and St George’s Hall, as well as many other attractions nearby. Jenny got ready with her bridesmaids, her mum, and her brother, who helped her into her elegant Vivienne Westwood dress. Meanwhile, just around the corner, Claudio, joined by his brother who had flown in from Italy, was suiting up in his distinctive green tartan double-breasted suit, also by Vivienne Westwood.
The ceremony in the Concert Room of St George’s Hall
I joined Claudio on the short walk over to St George’s Hall and was amazed by the scale of the impressive Concert Room a perfect setting for the music from The Rowan Quartet. After the ceremony and some lively group photos outside, Jenny and Claudio took a stroll through Liverpool, heading to the buzzing Baltic Triangle area to one of my absolute favourite wedding venues Sub Rosa where they had a day of fun ahead.
A party to remember at Sub Rosa
After arriving at Sub Rosa, Jenny and Claudio kicked off the celebrations with a confetti tunnel, followed by an incredible first dance. They wowed their guests with an Argentinian Tango they had been perfecting in the lead-up to the wedding—it was amazing to witness! Everyone paused to watch, completely captivated, and it was the perfect way to start their relaxed and informal wedding celebration in the July sunshine.
On a personal note, I was thrilled to receive a prestigious This Is Reportage Story Award from this wedding—a real highlight for me. Below are some of my favourite images that tell the story of Jenny and Claudio’s unforgettable day.
