Barnutopia Wedding Photographer | Sophie + Tariq
Sophie and Tariq’s wedding was one to remember, set in the breathtaking Shropshire countryside. Their celebration took place in style on the English-Welsh border at Barnutopia — an incredible outdoor and barn wedding venue. With the added bonus of glamping options, guests could stay onsite for the weekend, creating a relaxed and festival-like atmosphere.
Getting Ready at The Wynnstay Hotel and The Last Minute Nail Salon Visit
Sophie spent the morning getting ready with her sister at The Wynnstay Hotel, a charming place just a short distance from the venue. Not long after I arrived, Sophie made a quick trip to the nail salon just a few doors down to fix a broken nail. It’s these little unplanned moments that make a wedding day unique, and I loved capturing this mini story. The rest of the morning was laid-back and joyful, with Sophie radiating calmness and excitement.
An Amazing Outdoor Wedding at Barnutopia
At Barnutopia, the festivities were already in full swing as guests enjoyed pies and pints in the “pop-up” Open Arms Pub, set up specially for the weekend. The ceremony took place in a field with rolling hills as the stunning backdrop. After exchanging vows, Sophie and Tariq led their guests to an outdoor drinks reception that featured axe throwing and archery—perfect for adding a bit of adventure to the day.
The restored barn was beautifully set up with two long tables for a feast provided by Honey & Walnut Grazing. Sophie and Tariq’s grand entrance included high-fiving their guests as they made their way to their seats, setting the tone for a lively celebration.
Barnutopia is an exceptional choice for outdoor weddings. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, it offers flexibility for any wedding style—whether it’s an intimate gathering or a big festival-like bash. Guests can stay onsite in glamping yurts and cabins or pitch their own tents, and the venue provides plenty of spaces for eating, dancing, or simply relaxing by a fire. The barn itself offers a cozy cover for dining and transforms into a dancefloor for the evening.
Evening Celebrations with Punjabi Roots
As the sun set, Sophie and Tariq made a quick costume change before being led into the barn by a dholi and Punjabi Roots, who brought incredible energy and got the party started in style. It was the perfect way to kick off an unforgettable evening celebration.
Here are some of the photos I captured from their day! If you’re planning an outdoor, festival-style wedding, I’d love to be there to capture it for you!
